Lion's Choice® Participates in Shamrocks Against Dystrophy for the 3rd Consecutive Year

Lion's Choice® is participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Shamrock's Against Dystrophy program for the third consecutive year. Last year, Lion's Choice® donated a total of $3,830 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association by participating in this program.

From February 15th through March 19th, 2006, customers can purchase either a $1 green or $5 gold shamrock at any Lion's Choice® restaurant. In addition, Lion's Choice® is offering a shamrock deal: with the purchase of any regular sandwich and a $1 green shamrock, customers receive a coupon for an order of fries. With the purchase of a soft drink, fries and a $5 gold shamrock, customers will receive a coupon for one free roasted beef sandwich.

By participating in Shamrocks Against Dystrophy, Lion's Choice® customers can help the MDA find treatments and cures for more than 40 different types of neuromuscular diseases. The money raised from this program will also be put towards funding MDA research and programs (such as support groups and summer camps), and providing necessary equipment (such as leg braces and wheelchairs) for children and adults who live with neuromuscular diseases.

Soon after the program ends, Lion's Choice® will present a check to the MDA. This year's MDA National Goodwill Ambassador, Luke Cristie from Due West, SC., will be unable to attend, although in his place the MDA's 2005 National Goodwill Ambassador, 6-year-old Morgan Fritz, will accept the check. Luke and Morgan both have spinal muscular atrophy, a progressive neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the arms, legs and torso. Both children need to use a power wheelchair for mobility.

Each Lion's Choice® restaurant will post the purchased shamrocks in their store for display; the branches will band together as a district and compete against each other based on shamrock sales…so go to your favorite Lion's Choice® to purchase your shamrock and help support the MDA!
